A HEREFORDSHIRE mother who had sex with her 20-year-old son was warned by a judge that she will be jailed if she continues the behaviour.
The woman went to a police station and confessed that she'd had sex three times and was jealous of her son's girlfriend, said prosecutor Susan Cliff.
The offences happened last year in Hereford after she was given a two-year community order by magistrates for a similar offence.
In July 2005, the 42-year-old woman's son went to the police complaining that his mother had threatened him - and admitted they had sex together.
The woman who is now living in Ross-on-Wye and pleaded guilty to incest cannot be named to protect her son's identity.
Judge Andrew Geddes gave her a 12-month jail sentence but suspended it for 12 months.
He recognised that the woman had been given a terrible upbringing but said society viewed incest "with disgust".
The judge ordered her to be supervised by the probation service for a year and added: "I hope that will help you understand the proper boundaries of sexual conduct. But if you do this again, you will go to prison."
The woman was ordered to sign the sex offenders' register for 10 years.
Her barrister Lisa Hennessy made no submissions at Worcester Crown Court after the judge said he was willing to pass a suspended jail term as recommended in pre-sentence reports.
