POLICE have issued a warning to residents to be on their guard against men calling at homes offering tarmacking services.

There have been several reports of males calling at properties in the Golden Valley area over the last couple of days offering tarmacking services.

The males, who were wearing high-vis jackets, were in a black Honda civic with a yellow stripe and 'Motorway Maintenance' written on the side.

They said they are working for a company called Roadmac.

Fiona Witcher, from the Golden Valley Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: "We are keen to catch up with these males, as are our colleagues at Trading Standards, so if you see this vehicle, or the males call at your address, please report it on 101 immediately."

Residents are also asked to keep a lookout for a tarmac lorry parked up in a layby, who will be waiting nearby.
