BRITISH Transport Police (BTP) says its officers have "spoken to" a dog walker who may have got too close to the line at Marden this morning causing a train to stop.
Police and ambulance were scrambled to reports of someone being struck by the train just after 10am.
Initial enquiries at the scene suggested the train was stopped out of concern for "someone" seen walking too close to the track and a search began.
In a statement, BTP has now confirmed:"“No one was hit by a train but officers did speak to a dog walker who walked near the track to retrieve their dog.”
The dog walker was "spoken to" by officers.
Rail services between Hereford and Leominster are expected to resume shortly with delays expected until 1pm.
