TALENTED young show jumper Alice Verrier has made the leap!
Alice has been chosen as a Herefordshire representative for a national project called Leg Up for Talent.
The selection sees Alice, aged 13, from Pentwynmawr, Newbridge, Powys, clear the border.
Alice will be a regular on the county’s junior show-jumping scene after Easter when she starts at Tack Farm Event Centre, Ullingswick, having already tried out one day eventing there.
She is only the second junior rider in the UK - and the first in Wales and Herefordshire - to be accepted by Leg Up for Talent a programme aimed at securing long term grass roots sponsorship for talented young riders.
That sponsorship - both in cash and Gift in Kind - is provided in return for social media activities undertaken by the rider to promote the sponsor.
The firstt hurdle is as many likes on her Alice Verrier – Show Jumper Face Book page as possible.
Alice has been riding for four years.
Over the last 12 months she’s improved from jumping 2ft 3 classes to jumping BSJA Newcomers.
She wants to jump BSJA Foxhunter by the end of the season having also competed in dressage and cross-country.
