A PONY sustained minor injuries to its legs in a collision with a car in Leominster.

Police released information today regarding the collision which happened at the Morrisons roundabout at Barons Cross Road on January 8 at 10.35am.

Witnesses have described the car involved as a new cream coloured hatchback, similar to a Volkswagen Beetle.

The pony, which was caught by staff in Morrisons car park after the collision, was taken to a vets and is now making a good recovery at Bransby Horse Rescue.

She has been named Cherub and is believed to have run into Leominster from the A44 Monkland direction prior to the collision.

The pony is a small mare, approximately 12 hands and around 10-years-old. She is dark bay in colour and with a white mark down her face.

Police are appealing to try and find the owner of the pony and to identify the car involved in the collision. If anyone has any information which may assist call PC Sam Davies at Hereford OPU on 101.
