TWO brothers and their mother this week pleaded guilty to charges relating to a serious dog attack in Leominster.

Teresa Stinton and Olive Arnold were both injured in an attack on Bridge Street, Leominster, on May 31.

At Hereford Crown Court on Monday, Kenneth Stuchberry, 27, of Gwynne Street, Hereford, pleaded guilty to owning an American red nose pit bull cross called Bruno which was dangerously out of control and injured Teresa Stinton.

His brother, Andrew Stuchberry, 22, of Bridge Street, Leominster, pleaded guilty to a similar charge in relation to his Staffordshire bull terrier cross, Stella, which was also dangerously out of control and injured Teresa Stinton and Olive Arnold on the same day.

Their mum, Davina Stuchberry, 51, also of Bridge Street, Leominster, pleaded guilty to being in charge of both dogs when the attack happened.

Robert Hirschmann, a joiner from Leominster, had been passing by when he saw the attack and used a lightweight chair to put himself between Ms Stinton and the dog before calmly talking the dog down.

Ms Stinton suffered “catastrophic” multiple bites and lacerations following the attack.

The court heard this week that one dog died at the scene while the other was in kennels.

The trio are due to be sentenced at Hereford Crown Court in March.
