POLICE are appealing for witnesses and information after a fatal road traffic collision near Burford, near Tenbury Wells.
The incident happened on the A456, Ludlow Road, at around 5.30pm yesterday.
A red Peugeot 206 and a silver Vauxhall Insignia were in collision.
The driver of the Peugeot, a 55-year-old woman, sustained a serious head injury and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her next-of-kin have been informed.
The driver of the Vauxhall, a 38-year-old man, received a minor injury to his ankle. The road was closed for four-and-a-half hours after the collision.
The Peugeot was being driven from the direction of Kidderminster and the Vauxhall in the opposite direction.
Police are eager to establish the circumstances of the collision and ask for anyone who witnessed the incident, or the vehicles leading up to it, to call 101 quoting incident 439S of Thursday January 22.
