THIS is the moment a masked shotgun-wielding robber and his accomplice terrified staff at the High Noon service station in Symonds Yat.

A “nasty”, “very frightening” few minutes followed as the raiders threatened counter staff for money before escaping onto the A40 in a 4x4.

County detectives have been investigating the robbery for two months, and tonight it will feature on TV’s Crimewatch at 9pm.

Old school “stick -ups” are rare in Herefordshire, but Detective Constable Philippa Conway said the High Noon robbery was “nasty”and “very frightening”.

The station’s security system records the robbers as walking into the store area at 9.55pm on Tuesday, October 7. Both men had their faces masked, and one was armed with a long barrelled over/under shotgun.

Police have not specified how much money they escaped with as they made their getaway in a blue Mitsubishi Pajero 4x4.

“Anyone with information should get in touch as soon as possible. This was a nasty robbery and a very frightening experience for the staff,” said DC Conway.

“We hope that tonight’s BBC Crimewatch feature will appeal to those who may have information to come forward,” she said.
