HEREFORD United's winding-up hearing has been put back to later this morning after the club told the Registrar that it has secured a £750,000 investment from Newell Properties Developments Ltd.
Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs wanted the petition to be actioned this morning and the court heard that the £1.5million investment which the club said "was" or "almost secured" had fallen through at the last minute because of "aggressive social media".
A number of barristers representing other petitioners, as well as a handful of Hereford supporters, are also in court.
In addition to HMRC, the total amount of debt owing to the other petitioners stands at £278,617.
Newell Property Development Ltd is headed by Doug Carroll.
The company is based in Chelmsford, Essex, with 61-year-old Mr Carroll being appointed on March 16, 2004.
