IT may only be November but Father Christmas has already made his first appearance in the county.

Hereford’s Wyevale Garden Centre was the location where Santa arrived in style on a horse and carriage.

And he will be remaining there in his grotto during the run-up to Christmas – thanks to the Hereford Lions Club.

The winter wonderland has been set up in the Kings Acre centre with animated polar bears and penguins, and a working model railway.

Millie Chester, from Westfaling Street, Whitecross, Hereford, was given the honour of riding with Santa in his carriage.

The seven-year-old won the treat in a Wyevale Facebook competition to find Santa’s missing reindeers.

Millie and Santa were met by a host of children all wanting to say what they wanted for Christmas.

Entry to see Santa at Wyevale is free but visitors are invited to make a donation to the Lions Club charity fund.
