A PENSIONER has been released on police bail after questioning over the death of another OAP found injured at his cottage home in Ewyas Harold.
The 69-year-old woman was arrested at the address yesterday with the cottage subject to a full forensic search.
The victim, 78-year-old retired civil servant Brian Wells, died at Hereford County Hospital earlier this month and a fortnight after being found injured at the cottage.
The woman since bailed has been out of the county for some time.
A post mortem confirmed that Mr Wells had suffered multiple injuries with an initial cause of death recorded as "organ failure".
Detectives are now waiting on the results of toxicological and forensic tests.
More immediate work is underway on establishing the movements and whereabouts of Mr Wells before he was found injured.
