FUNDRAISERS the length and breadth of Herefordshire have driven, danced and 'planked' their way to raising vital funds for Children in Need.

Shoppers in Hereford's Maylord Shopping Centre were able to watch a world record bid as city-based Featbeat joined thousands of people around the country in a bid to break the record for the largest tap dance in multiple venues.

The attempt raised £356 with those taking part set to find out in due course whether they have broken the world record.

Meanwhile, pupils at Ivington Primary School near Leominster received a visit from Children in Need icon Pudsey.

Also present during the visit was Rachael Mellings from Leominster's B&Q store which has been selling Children in Need merchandise, as well as holding a raffle and bric-a-brac sale.

A convoy of six driving instructors from Hereford held a Big Learner Relay where a relay of hundreds of driving instructors passed a Pudsey roof sign over 2,000 miles.

More unusually, carer Ally Edwards, from Kingstone, who gained more than four-and-a-half stone due to illness, celebrated shedding the pounds by posing for a 'plank' (a popular fitness exercise) photo next to a Kune Kune pig.

Elsewhere, father and son firemen Stephen and Harry Ratcliffe, from Hay-on-Wye, held a 12-hour pedalling session in Hay's Butter Market.
