HAY Festival's little brother, the Winter Weekend, will welcome Booker Prize-winning authors and expert chocolatiers to the border town this month.

The fifteenth winter festival, falling on the weekend of the 28th this year it will coincide with Hay-on-Wye's Food Festival.

And alongside award-winning writers like Graham Smith (England and Other Stories) and Eleanor Catton (The Luminaries), the Winter Weekend will also have a culinary flavour, with appearances from artisan baker Alex Gooch, Welsh-Itallian chef Romina Chiappa and chocolatier Liam Burgess.

There will also be three representatives from Hay Festival's Africa39 project - promoting the best literary from 39 African writers under the age of 39 - one of whom will be introducing children to traditional African storytelling.

The town's Food Festival will host 35 producers in the Butter and Cheese Markets on 29th, and there will be a vintage fashion fair on 30th.
