LEOMINSTER in Bloom volunteers joined forces with the town's cadets last weekend to strengthen one of the town's ancient hedgerows.
Proudly showing off their new gardening tools that were donated by the Kingspan Insulation Community Trust, the group of 12 set to work filling gaps in the line of the hedge.
The young saplings were provided free by the Woodland Trust as part of a national scheme to encourage community planting.
Gill Ding, of Leominster in Bloom, said: "The rain just held off and we spent two hours there with 105 trees. The aim was to thicken up the existing hedgerows that run parallel to Ginhall Lane where there are some wonderful older oak and ash.
"We were there for about two hours and the sun did come out. It was great."
