OVER 300 people enjoyed a concert last weekend given by the Treorchy Male Choir in the Knighton Community Centre. The concert was organised by Knighton and District Rotary Club and all the profits will go to charities including the Wales and Midlands Air Ambulances. More details of this can be seen on the Knighton Rotary website.
Fifty three members of the choir (including a 92 year old member) and their soloist Iona Jones gave a spirited performance that left the audience impressed. At the end of the evening, the choir collected over £700 to help towards their favourite charity, Ty Hafan Children's Hospice near Cardiff.
" This is the most generous response we have had after any concert" said choir director Jeffrey Howard.
Kim Smith of Knighton Rotary Club said "We are so grateful for the overwhelming support of the audience and of our sponsors, Fishmore Hall in Ludlow and The Jolly Frog in Leintwardine, for making this evening such a success."
