AN Estyn school inspection team has described a local school as providing ‘a wide range of stimulating learning experiences both within and outside the classroom'.
Following their recent inspections in June, by Estyn and also by the church in Wales, Knighton Church in Wales Primary School is celebrating two encouraging reports.
The church inspector reported that: "There was a real sense that they were moving beyond what is good, and seeking to be an example of excellence, not only in teaching and learning, but also in modelling a caring and supportive Christian community in the school."
Writing to thank everyone for their warm welcome, Reverend Mark Lawson-Jones enclosed a copy of his book, The Little Book of Wales, for the school library.
The Estyn team also praised the school’s warm atmosphere and well-motivated and well-behaved pupils. They wrote that: "Teachers and support staff work well together…They use praise, encouragement and positive reinforcement successfully to encourage pupils’ learning and good behaviour."
Chairman of the school governors Julia Llewellyn-Roberts said: “The staff, pupils and governors are now busy working together to build on the advice and guidance from these encouraging reports."
