ONCE again, Eaton Bishop had a very successful summer fete at The White House with visitors enjoying a barbecue, cream teas, ice cream and liquid refreshment from the pub and Pimm's bar, browsing various stalls, admiring the collection of military vehicles and classic cars and trying their hand at games such as skittles, splat-a-rat, golf, shove whisky, wine or water, to name a few. The children were able to have their faces painted, participate in the garden treasure hunt and enter the fancy dress competition which was judged by The Sheriff with his assistant, Jules - a very difficult task as all the costumes were wonderful. First prize went to Olivia, Ella and Lara Main who dressed as Dorothy (with Toto the dog aka Benson), Cowardly Lion and Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz.

Locals were entertained by Sasha McVeigh, their very own country singer/songwriter, who had just returned from Nashville and a tour of the States and, this year, they held a fun dog show which was expertly organised by Sally Hayward and judged by Tania Fitzgerald and Ann Hitchiner. Twig, Kathleen Lifely's black labrador, was awarded Best in Show.

Huge thanks for all the time and effort given by many people in the village and beyond, to those who so kindly donated prizes for the draw and to everyone who came along to support the fete on the day. Organisers are pleased to announce that £2268.58 was raised which will be divided equally between the village hall and the church.
