A MAN was left hanging out of his car window following a serious crash near Ross-on-Wye this morning.

The 19 year-old male was taken to Hereford County Hospital with leg and ankle fractures following the two-car collision on the A449 at around 6.30am.

The other driver was trapped in his car with the fire service and ambulance crews helping to free him.

He was treated for a suspected fractured pelvis, abdominal injuries and cuts to his head and was flown to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

Three ambulances, a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle, a paramedic area support officer and a BASICS doctor also attended.
