I was the second car behind the Hgv and as soon as we witness the car go into the hedge myself and my mum run to help. We stayed with the elderly couple talking and reassuring them both until the ambulance and fire and rescue arrived. My thoughts are with the family and I'm truly sadden and heartbroken with what we saw but glad we managed too keep them awake and calm until help arrived.

Dear ChanAkers, I don't know the couple, but want to say thank you for everything you did, so terribly sad, and it must have been quite distressing for you and your mum and anyone else around at the time. Thinking of you and the poor people involved at this tragic time.
There needs to be more speed enforcement on this road, I drive a big vehicle, and find the speed of some vehicles awful and with the lorries they are often slightly over the white line because the road is so narrow. They are also very intimidating to meet.

It was the least I could do. I've never done anything like this or seen anything like this. But first reaction was too help. I'm 22 and from working in care for the past 5 years I did only what I new. My thoughts are with their family. I've heard from the police and the man is still in intensive care but is so far doing well and talking. I hope him a speedy recovery and just glad I could do what I could untill help arrived

@ ChanAkers Many years ago my father was killed in a car accident, and for many years my family were distraught wondering if things would have been different if someone had got help earlier or been there. x

Firstly my thoughts go to the family of the of the couple. I experienced an accident on the Canon Pyon road in 2006 a young lad came around the corner as you approach canon Pyon village far to fast and ended up hitting me head on. I was out of action 3 months with various medical issues. The lad who caused the accident was only given a 2 day driving course to attend the police need to getter firmer with speeding offences to reduce repeated occurrences of speed related accidents the canon Pyon road is a nightmare more speed enforcement needs to happen!

An absolute tragedy. My thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased and the person seriously hurt.
Well done, ChanAkers, for having the courage and and the welfare of your fellow human beings to stop and help. Should I ever being unfortunate enough to be involved in such an incident, I hope others would help me. I would certainly stop and help if I saw people in trouble.
I hope you and your Mum are both all right, the shock of seeing such a sight can be very upsetting. Look after yourselves.
