TWO Herefordshire students have cooked up a storm by winning a prestigious culinary challenge.
Megan Lyke, from Kingsland, and Leominster resident Katie Lewis, who are studying for degrees in culinary arts management at the University College Birmingham, saw off competition from 12 other university teams.
They won the British Culinary Foundation Student Challenge Cook and Serve Team of the Year 2014 after producing a three course menu within one hour and 45 minutes.
Their winning dish included a starter of lamb and sweetbread terrine, a main course of sole renaissance, and rhubarb and ginger bavario.
The pair both received a mini set of three copper pans, a Robot Coupe Blender, Contracto knife set, a glass trophy and framed certificate each.
Birmingham resident Megan Shenton was also part of the successful team.
