MUSIC and drinks lovers joined together for two days of "rustic" festival charm in Herefordshire last weekend.

It was the first year that the boutique Rock the Farm festival, based on the site of Chase Distillery, opened to the public.

And the emphasis was on the art of creating beautiful, delicious drinks, with bartenders from as far away as Germany battling it out to win the coveted Chase Cup.

Chase's English potato vodka was recently crowned the "World's Best" by the San Francisco World Spirit Awards, and with other artisan drinks on offer including marmalade vodka, rhubarb vodka and smoked vodka there was probably no better place than the company's Herefordshire farm to host an event which would showcase the best of the illustrious drinks industry.

And along with plenty of local food and drinks, visitors had the opportunity to take a tour of the farm and hear from speakers who are already making their mark in the industry.

Good music was also in abundance, with Herefordshire's own country singer/songwriter Sasha McVeigh opening the main stage on Saturday.

And on Sunday, festival-goers were privy to an intimate performance from indie rockers Mystery Jets who have previously frequented large venues across the UK .
