AN ENTREPRENEURIAL nine-year-old ‘just wanted to make a difference’ by selling loom bands in Bromyard to raise money for a local children’s hospice.

Anna-Mae Potter has been avidly making the bands all summer, with several Bromyard businesses selling them for Acorns Children’s Hospice in Worcester.

And this week, along with mum Jo, she presented them with more than £120 that she had raised.

“I’m so proud of her,” said Mrs Potter.

“Even when we were on our holidays, she would be on the back seat making them.

“She said she just wanted to put a smile on a lot of faces.”

The family had a recent experience with Acorns, and Mrs Potter said they had been so impressed with the care that they wanted to give something back.

St Peter’s Primary pupil Anna-Mae managed to sell more than 100 of the bands, with Bromyard salon Studio 19 and local garage Linton Motor Services helping out by selling them.

But for now she is putting away her band-making equipment with a new school term starting this week, said her mum.
