A JOINT birthday party for three people from Llangunllo has so far raised £1,465 for local charities. The party was held at Llangunllo village hall for Henry Morgan (80) Kath Poole (70) and Julie Watts (50). The event started in the afternoon with a tea party for the older residents of the village and friends. In the evening, stage two of the party was held when most of the guests dressed in 1950s, 60s or 70s costume. There was a hog roast and a rodeo bull for everyone to have a go on. On behalf of Kath, Henry and herself, Julie thanked everyone for coming and all those who donated money instead of gifts.
The Knighton and Presteigne Leg Club will receive £525, Monaughty Youth Club and the Friends of St Cynllo’s Church £460 each and the Air Ambulance £20.
