HEREFORD and Worcester Army Cadet Force hosted its most senior supporters at its annual summer camp at Altcar near Liverpool.

The Lord Lieutenant of Herefordshire, Lady Darnley, was joined by Major Patrick Darling (High Sherriff of Herefordshire), Major General Malcolm Wood (chairman of the Army Cadet Force Association), Brigadier Gerhard Wheeler (Commanding 143 West Midlands Brigade) and Brigadier Martin Vine (Honorary Colonel). Other senior officers from the Regular and Reserve Forces and supporting organisations accompanied them.

The guests visited cadets engaged in field training exercises, on shooting ranges and on adventurous training. Over 250 cadets from the counties attended the camp, together with more than 100 adults.

Cadet Commandant, Colonel Andy Taylor said, "We were very pleased to welcome our guests to our annual summer camp. We appreciate everything our supporters do for us as we develop the counties' young people into the citizens of the future."

The Battalion also passed a notable milestone on visitors' day when it reached 1000 followers on its Facebook page. You can follow Hereford and Worcester Army Cadet Force at www.Facebook.com/HWACF.
