A PARAGLIDER was taken to hospital with minor back injuries after crash landing yesterday afternoon.

Two ambulances and a Midlands Air Ambulance were called to Sollers Hope just before 3.40pm following reports that a man, believed to be 52, had collided with a hill when coming in to land.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Due to the difficult location of the man’s position, the air ambulance was unable to land nearby but once crews reached the patient, they treated him for lower back pain, administered pain relief and immobilised him with the use of a neck collar and spinal board.

“The man was transported from the hillside to the air ambulance with the use of a farm vehicle before being flown to Hereford County Hospital for further assessment.”
