A ROSS-ON-WYE man faces jail time after swallowing four small fish as part of ‘Neck Nomination’ video.

Paul Wooding of Brampton Avenue, ‘necked’ the minnows – along with shots of whiskey, rum and vodka – in Ross’ Golf Inn after being challenged by his mates as part of the viral video craze that took over Facebook earlier this year.

However shortly after, the video was reported to the RSCPA, who brought two charges against Wooding under the Animal Welfare Act for ‘torturing or killing’ an animal.

The 33-year-old has pleaded guilty to both, and, appearing at Hereford Magistrates Court last Tuesday, he was told that the maximum sentence he could receive was six months’ imprisonment.

He will hear his fate tomorrow.

In the video, just before drinking the fish, Wooding looks into the camera and says “It ain’t big and it ain’t clever”.
