NEWENT District Council is inviting local residents to the third Newent Town Team event.
The idea is to bring the community together in a far-reaching vision of the town's future.
The meeting, on Tuesday August 19, from 7pm, in the Memorial Hall, is open to individuals, businesses and groups with an interest in the future of Newent and its surrounding areas.
During the evening there will be updates from the Local Action Group and the Newent Initiative Trust.
Newent's mayor, Roger Beard, said: “This event is the next step in the formation of a Newent Town Team to help protect the future of the town and its surroundings. The organisers were really pleased with the response from the local community at the second meeting in May and I would encourage people to come along to this third meeting and get involved.”
Norma Hurrell of All Seasons Delicatessen and Cafe and Chair of the Newent and District Business Club said: “The Newent and District Business Club is delighted to be actively involved in the Town Team initiative and looks forward to attending this third event to take the Newent Town Team initiative forward."
