THE contractors who have been restoring the Master's House in Ledbury are also winning friends elsewhere in town.
A Speller Metcalfe team has won praise from the Ledbury Civic Society for their speedy work in replacing wooden bollards at the start of Church Lane, one of Ledbury's most scenic streets.
Alex Clive, chairman of the Ledbury Civic Society said, in a letter of appreciation: "We are delighted with the result and furthermore very impressed that the whole thing had happened so quickly and simply.
"Ledbury Civic Society is used to waiting a very long time for things like this to get gone."
Jessica Worlock, heritage and volunteering co-ordinator at the Master's House said the work was "another example of community support from Speller Metcalfe".
The team also fixed broken seat slats in Ledbury's Walled Garden.
The Master's House, which is set to house Ledbury's new library, is set to re-open next year.
