THE VOICES of armed services veterans could be recorded, under a project being considered by the town's War Memorial Working Party.

Cllr Martin Eager made the suggestion, at a recent working party meeting, to record the memories of Royal British Legion members for posterity, "so their legacy could live on".

Fellow councillors agreed, and suggested seeking assistance from a professional company.

The idea will be discussed further at a future meeting, where it will also be debated as to whether the group's name should be changed to the Commemoration Working Party, to give a broader remit.
