LEDBURY'S MP, Bill Wiggin has welcomed news that unemployment has fallen again in his North Herefordshire constituency.
New figures from the Office of National Statistics, released this week, show the number of unemployed claimants in the North Herefordshire constituency in June 2014 was 587 - a fall of 71 from May 2014, and a fall of 404, compared with June 2013.
Mr Wiggin said: “I was delighted to see the unemployment rate continue to fall in North Herefordshire. We now have 587 out of work; - this is steady progress.
“I think one of the best ways for people to find some pride and ambition in their lives is through work, so I am very pleased people are finding jobs in North Herefordshire.
He added: “During the last year, our unemployment rate has almost halved, showing yet again that our county is very much open for business.”
