THE owners of Kentchurch Court Estate want to build 38 homes in Ewyas Harold.

A planning application submitted to Herefordshire Council states that, if approved, the properties would consist of 13 affordable homes, with the rest being open market.

The land targeted is to the east of Callowside, off Elm Green Road.

The design and access statement says that Kentchurch Court is aiming to allow beneficial use of the nearby Callow Hill Wood, which will be accessed via new pedestrian links from the site.

Community open space is also part of the plans, with the provision for around 57 car park spaces.

"The new development will bring a variety of residential units, including affordable housing, offering a range of accommodation to create a vibrant new community, alongside the existing settlements within Ewyas Harold," reads the statement.

"The additional houses will bring increased population to the area, ensuring school places are filled and increased trade potential for local businesses, enhancing the local economy.

"As part of the application, the heads of terms agreements will ensure that financial contributions would be made where deemed necessary to improve local infrastructure including education, sustainable transport, sports and recreational facilities, library facilities, waste and recycling initiatives and public open space."
