THE annual exhibition of art and technology work at John Kyrle High School is always of an extremely high standard and this year was no exception. The work from art, textiles, food technology, graphics, resistant materials and engineering showed the dedication, creativity and hard work that the students from both GCSE and A Level have put into their designs.

The food for the evening was inspired by the 'Mad Hatters tea party' from Alice in Wonderland and students linked to this theme by modelling some of the costumes that had been made by A Level and GCSE students.

Visitors to the exhibition were very impressed by the work on display and all involved agree that 2014 has been another successful year for the departments. Head of technology Kath Stone-Fewings said, "The exhibition is an annual opportunity to celebrate the achievement of the students who have, yet again, been a credit to the school and have helped John Kyrle maintain its excellent reputation." Art teacher, Neil Carroll added, "I am delighted with the enthusiastic responses by our students who have shown great skill and real endeavour in the choices of media and scale of their work."

Headteacher Nigel Griffiths commented on how fantastic the exhibition had been and that he had spoken to a number of parents, visitors and governors and everyone was hugely impressed with all they saw. Mr Griffiths thanked staff adding, "I know how much effort goes into both getting this high-quality work from students and setting up the exhibition."
