CHILDREN at St Mary's Primary School in Fownhope have taken part in a number of activities to remember those who died in war.
A production of 'Edith's Wartime Scrapbook' was performed, while a 'poppy garden' was created in the school's grounds.
The project tied in with the 100th anniversary of the First World War.
"We had lots of activities to commemorate the anniversary and part of that was for every pupil to plant a poppy seed in the garden," said headteacher Tim Milne.
"In addition to that, we did some research of people of Fownhope and how many fought in the wars.
"Their names were then put on a giant poppy."
