A CALL has gone out for more nurses to join community hospitals in Ross-on-Wye, Bromyard and Leominster.

Wye Valley NHS Trust has launched a recruitment campaign looking for qualified nurses either looking for a new challenge or who have left the profession but want to return.

Drop-in sessions will be held next Wednesday (16th) from 4pm-7pm at each of the hospitals for anyone interested in finding out more information.

“Community hospitals are a very important part of our organisation,” said Michelle Clarke, the Trust's director of nursing and quality.

“No days are ever the same for our multi-disciplinary teams who care for patients either following transfers from Hereford County Hospital, or direct admissions to the community hospital.

“We are justifiably proud of the healthcare services we provide at the hospitals - they all perform well and the services are greatly appreciated by our patients.

“However, we are short of qualified nursing staff and would urge anyone who is already in the profession but wants a change, or anyone who has left for any reason, to call in at the drop-in sessions."
