A GROUP of women are gearing up for this year's Race for Life to raise money for a woman who died from pancreatic cancer.

The Moclair Muckers have already generated more than £1,000 by packing bags at Marks and Spencer in Hereford and sponsorship from Leominster shop 4 Parties and a Wedding.

The Mousechap Cheese shops in Leominster, Hereford and Ludlow will also show their support for the group by holding a 'pink week' from Saturday which will include each shop being decorated and a donation box.

The Race for Life event takes place at Hereford Racecourse on Sunday, July 13 and will feature thousands of women running in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The Moclair Muckers will be running to remember Lorraine Moclair, who died in December last year.

Last year, the group used a pink wheelbarrow to race the course, but have decided to swap it for their dogs to honour Lorraine's love of long walks.

"Lorraine leaves a massive hole in the hearts of her family and friends especially for her daughters Michelle Price and Sarah Morton and her granddaughter, Gabby," said Sian and Liz Dolloway, who are part of the Moclair Muckers.
