A WOMAN had to be cut free from her car following a road traffic accident near Ross-On-Wye yesterday (June 30) that left her vehicle pinned against a tree.
The accident happened at the M50/A449 roundabout with emergency services – including an air ambulance – called at 12:32pm.
Fortunately an off-duty paramedic happened to be on the scene, and a passing ambulance from the Welsh ambulance service was also able to assist.
Two appliances from Ross-On-Wye fire station attended, with firefighters having to cut off the vehicle’s roof to safely free the driver – the only person in the car – as her door was trapped against a tree.
The woman was flown to a major trauma unit at Bristol with lower back pain, however her injuries were not thought to be serious.
