AS Cancer Research UK's Relay For Life Marches and Mid Wales fast approaches, Luigi Napolitano-Wilson, aged eight, decided to run a stall at the John Beddoes Campus PTA car boot sale held at the school on June 21.

Luigi, together with his mother and grandmother, is a member of The Coffee Beans Team. Teams fundraise in any way they wish and then all come together for the final celebration of their fundraising at the Relay For Life event.

So impressed were the volunteer committee that is organising relay, that they presented Luigi with a Cancer Research UK medal for his efforts.

Luigi raised £73 for Cancer Research UK and thanks everyone for their donations of goods and money.

Relay For Life is an overnight family event that brings everyone in the community together to show that united we are stronger than cancer.

Relay is being held at John Beddoes Campus Sports Field on July 12 and 13, festivities commencing at 11.30am on Saturday, with the first lap of the track taking place at 12 noon. Members of the teams then take it in turns to walk the track for a full 24 hours, with at least one member from each team on the track at all times.

There is still time to register to be part of a team, or even to form a new team. Contact Mick Fryer, event chairman, on 01544 260657 or visit relay.cancerresearchuk.org for more information.
