A COUNTY cider company has proved it has the recipe for success after scooping a national business award.

Weston's Cider, based in Much Marcle, won in the ‘New Frontiers’ category at the Red Ribbon Awards of The Family Business Place.

It was in recognition of the company's success in finding new markets and launching new projects, with its draught and bottled ciders and perries not only available throughout the UK but also now exported to more than 40 countries worldwide.

Helen Thomas, managing director of Westons Cider received the award at Goldsmiths’ Hall, London on June 20.

She said: “It is great to know that everything that we are doing to develop our business and our people has been recognised with this award and all colleagues should feel proud of this achievement.”

Now in its fifth year, the Red Ribbon Awards are one of the most prestigious of accolades for family businesses around the UK .
