No adverts for town guide

First published in News

LEDBURY Town Councillors have turned down an offer for the new town guide, at no cost to the council, because it would have been full of advertisements.

The current guide, funded by the council, contains no adverts, - which the councillors prefer.

Councillors are now exploring the possibility of producing a new town guide, free from adverts.

Herefordian says...

As long as the adverts are for business's within the town what the heck is wrong with that, surely visitors want to know what's on offer?

Probably by the time it gets approved the tourist season will be over
Are the councilors blinkered or what

Hereford Common Sense says...

Couldn't have worded it better myself Herefordian. In fact since when did Hereford Councilors have the luxury to suddenly turn down something that would still be as functional but free? Is this decision based on no more than individual subjective preference? What next a printer offering to print it for free if the paper is white, but councilors saying no due to wanting it to be yellow? A guide with local businesses advertising within is a bad idea because.............
.....?

Decisions need to be made on what is best for the county under the current circumstances. Perhaps if you re-think this you could consider the money saved as going towards one of the services you have cut back on?
