A HEREFORD man has raised more than £1,200 by completing a gruelling 100-mile hike
Dave Podmore, 50, took part in the Valleys 100 event - an arduous trek across the Wye Valley, the Brecon Beacons and the South Wales Valleys.
He was raising money for Greyhound Rescue West of England, a charity that him and his wife Sharon volunteer at.
“The furthest I’d walked prior to this event is 50 miles” said Mr Podmore.
“This was the most gruelling 46 hours of my life - but my wife and own two rescued greyhounds were waiting to meet me at the finish line.
“Thinking about the dogs that this money will help save spurred me on through some very dark moments."
