A SERIES of walks were organised in and around Knighton for the town's walking weekend. Walk one was a tough one, led by superwoman Rebecca Morris who has recently walked over 1000 miles around Wales. The walk started in Llangunllo, following parts of Glyndwr's Way, and ended in Knucklas.
Walk two was a less strenuous seven mile circular walk from the community centre and including a part of Offa's Dyke Path, led by Ron Ellwood of East Radnor Ramblers.
There was also a gentle three mile walk, led by Joan Payne and volunteers from Radnorshire Wildlife Trust. During this walk up Pontfaen Dingle lots of wild creatures, birds, plants and trees were identified. On the Sunday there were two walks one again led by Rebecca Morris from Llanfairwaterdine to Knighton along the Offa's Dyke path and the other was a Knighton town walk looking at the towns history led by Knighton's town crier Derrick Price. Derrick took walkers up Offa's Roan, along Market Street to Nelson Square, down the Narrows and Broad Street, up Bridges Street and on round to Station Road.
