HEREFORD and Ludlow Got 2 Sing community choirs sang their hearts out last week, all to give an additional boost to this year’s Heart Rhythm Week (June 2 - 8) which marks the Heart Rhythm Charity, Arrhythmia Alliance's tenth anniversary milestone - celebrating ten years of progress in arrhythmia care.

To get in the spirit the choirs began the week by wearing red at choir practice and all members each donated £1 each for the charity. Then on Saturday, despite the downpours they performed at Hampton Court Castle Garden Festival, boosting the charity funds even further by appealing for donations to raise a grand total of £206.54.

Heart Rhythm Week serves to educate people about arrhythmia (heart rhythm problems) and celebrate the amazing progress that continues to be made. According to the NHS, arrhythmias are experienced by more than one million people a year in the UK.

Choir leader, Beth Hippard commented, "We were determined that Saturday's weather wouldn't dampen our spirits and I am delighted that we were able to raise over £200 for this very worthwhile cause."

Since its formation in 2011, Got 2 Sing has helped to support many local charities. Last year alone it raised a staggering £65,000 for various charities including Singing for the Brain and Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer.
