A WOMAN has died after she was involved in a collision with a car in a village near Hereford.

The woman - who was in her 60s - was wallking her dog near Dormington Court when the collision involving a Honda Civic happened at 4.30pm on Friday afternoon.

The driver of the car was unhurt.

Rescue teams, which included paramedics, the Mercia Accident Rescue Service and an air ambulance, all attended.

A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said crews arrived to find a woman pedestrian in cardiac arrest after reportedly being in collision with a car.

"Ambulance staff immediately started CPR on scene and quickly transferred her to the awaiting ambulance before alerting her into nearby Hereford Hospital," the spokesperson said.

"Advance life support continued en route to hospital. Sadly, despite the best efforts, nothing could be done to save the woman and she was confirmed dead a short times later in hospital."

The dog also died following the collision.
