FAMILIES flocked to a county wood for two days of traditional outdoor adventures last week.

Credenhill Park Wood, owned by The Woodland Trust, held two days of family activities over the half term to encourage people to find out more about the ancient woodland on the edge of Hereford.

Several dozen visitors took part in a range of activities including den building, crafts, games, story telling and cooking on fires.

Jane Craven, of the Woodland Trust, said: “Credenhill is full of history and it’s a great location for families to learn about and be inspired by trees and woods. We had a number of families visit over the course of the two days and by all accounts all had a great time. We look forward to seeing more visitors later in the year.”

The Woodland Trust will be holding a further three activity days at Credenhill on August 6, 7 and 8.
