LEOMINSTER In Bloom has suffered with the spending cuts by Herefordshire Council. They asked for donations and sponsors in order to maintain the high standard of floral displays in the town.
Inner Wheel Club of Leominster offered to sponsor a planter on a roundabout in the centre of town.
Members met to clear the planter of weeds and planted it with flowers, seeds and shrubs on the theme of blue and yellow – the colours of Inner Wheel. Arrangements have been made for the planter to be weeded and watered throughout the year.
It is now hoped that judges from The Heart of England in Bloom, coming to the town in July, will be impressed by the town's efforts to maintain the standard they have achieved in the past.
