THE Knighton Amnesty group celebrated Forget-me-not Day, which commemorates the founding of Amnesty International, with a ‘teabag tree’ at the market in the Knighton hotel car park on May 22. Visitors to the market in the morning were invited to take a teabag from the tree, make a cup of tea at home and think about human rights. The abduction of the Nigerian schoolgirls would have been on the minds of many at the moment. Members of the Knighton Amnesty group stood by the tree and gave out information about the work that Amnesty do throughout the world. There was also a collection box and over £20 was donated.
