TWO men who were arrested following a dog attack in Leominster have been released on police bail.

A woman who was later arrested has also now been released on police bail.

Police were called to Bridge Street in the town at 6.35pm on Saturday after two dogs injured three people.

Police say the dogs, believed to be a Staffordshire bull terrier and a bullmastiff, were seen attacking one woman in the street.

Members of the public attempted to assist and police managed to restrain one of the dogs.

One woman was taken by air ambulance to hospital to be treated for multiple bites to her torso, arms and legs, and for suspected tendon/ligament damage to her right wrist. She is awaiting surgery. Her injuries are serious but not believed to be life threatening.

A further two women are also believed to have suffered injuries and received medical attention.

The restrained dog, believed to be the bullmastiff, died at the scene.  The other dog was seized by police.
