MOVE over Harrods, - a village shop will put on the style as a posh boutique this weekend, to raise money for new shelving.

The community-run Bromsberrow Shop, on the village's business park, needs to raise "a few hundred pounds" for extra shelving, so the stock can be expanded.

Shop spokesperson, Jan Long said the idea of making the shop a boutique, on Saturday May 31, was a "new and exciting" development that might be repeated.

She added: "The Bromsberrow Boutique has something to interest everyone! Some of the things members of the public can expect to see are collectible items, stoneware pottery and china, old ridge tiles, Victorian style glass cutlery, fabulous clothes and accessories, jewellery, the ubiquitous bookstall, and much more, including a children's toys and a lucky dip."

The boutique will also be a "boottique" on the day - a play on words, because it will be run in tandem with a car boot sale.

The joint event, from 9am to 2pm, will also offer hot Thai food, beverages and cakes.

Mrs Long said: "This should make it a fun day out for all the family!

"Sales for spaces for the car boot have been rapid at only £5 a pitch, so for those wanting to book a 'pitch', please contact the shop at Bromsberrow on 07977 787004 or 07969 836341."

Free car available for members of the public.
