A MAN in his 50s was taken to hospital with serious injuries last night after being impaled on a spike in Hay-on-Wye.
It is believed that he stumbled and impaled his cheek on the metal railings near the Red Indigo Restaurant in Castle Street.
Community First Responders were initially called to the scene, followed by a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance, an officer and an air ambulance.
The man was taken to Hereford County Hospital with serious injuries.
At this stage, there is no update regarding the man's condition.
