LOCAL people are being urged to make the most of Ledbury Community Day.

The celebration of all things Ledbury will take place on Saturday June 7, with most attractions and displays set to take place between 10am and 4pm.

The events will take place at various locations, indoors and outdoors, around Ledbury, and a programme should be available from the town council offices, Church Lane, on Friday, May 23.

Paul Kinnaird, Chairman of the organising committee said: “Last year’s Community Day was wonderful. This year we have even more events around the town, especially for children. So join us for the day with your family, friends and neighbours to have some fun, try out new things, listen to music and see how many clubs and organisations make Ledbury such a great town.”

He added: "Over sixty groups and organisations are ready to welcome you throughout the town; for example, The Bowling Club and the Tennis Club invite you to have a go at their open days.

"You can try nordic walking and martial arts and find out about archery; and you can take a backstage tour at the Market Theatre, visit the Fire Station, and hear music from the Community Band and John Masefield High School in the Walled Garden."

Mr Kinnaird continued: "Our local police and community ambulance will be on station for you. Ledbury Primary School want to tell you about their school’s Values programme. Ledbury Places want to know your thoughts on plans for Ledbury’s heritage buildings – most of which you can visit including tours of the Master’s House restoration.

"Ledbury Town Plan can brief you on the outcome of last autumn’s household survey and the Neighbourhood Plan on how you can help this key work for Ledbury’s future."

Other attractions will include a fairy door trail and a chance to explore the local churches, included a guided tour of St Michael and All Angels
